Drama at the America’s Cup

You may not follow or care about the America Cup. There was a BIG accident. But stick with me…… Lots to learn wrt Metadata Management, Data Cloud, and Center of Excellence.

What happened

The Kiwi boat’s crane failed when they were lifting the boat out of the water and it dropped 20 feet onto its trailer. Here is the interview with the CEO of the team – Grant Dalton.

BTW Grant was brought in to turn around the team after the loss to the USA in 2003. The team won in 2017 and 2021.

Learnings from interview

Data accelerates analysis. The boat was switched on so all the strain gauges around the boat were still collecting data, so they have all the data to assess the impact of the fall. @0:40 in video
